Whew, what an incredible high I'm on (no exogenous contributions). God has a way of placing the right people in our lives at the right time. Over a month ago, I took a girls trip to Auburn to do some hiking at Chewacla State park and see some old friends. After several months of Bumbling, using a dating app, I made a connection that has enlightened my life. The good thing about the Bumble app is that women make the first move to communicate. I have had several interesting experiences with dating apps like meeting the special sponsor who is a recovering alcoholic dedicated to helping others at their lowest period in life, the NY businessman that informed me on our first date he had cancer, the retired COL that writes about GRIT but can't handle personal feedback, the Asperger experience that wouldn't tell me his last name in fear that I would want him for his rank/title and the wealthy playboy that told me that he was tired of going out with 30 y/o girls so I would be the next wife he cheated on. Needless to say my expectations for meeting someone with integrity and character was low at best. I let my girlfriends have fun swiping to select potential prospects. They selected 3 candidates that I thought were comme si comme sa, but I agreed to play the game by securing a meeting with the lead candidate. Interesting fact, we went out the night before and thought we saw the lead candidate out trying to pick up girls half his age. After a day on the farm with a friend, I just didn't have the energy or desire to go out on a date. I asked him to join us at the cabin for a burger and beer. He showed up in his pickup truck with a bottle of wine and smile that made my heart flutter. At this time, I was really wishing that I had put on deodorant. He used his southern charm to woo his way into 3 women's hearts before the burgers were on the grill. Fire, burgers, wine, music and lots of laughter were the prelude to a heavy make out session on a park bench under the bright stars reflecting off the lake. I felt like a teenager again, it was a high like no other just letting go and embracing the moment we were experiencing. This ignited my romance novel journey that only God could write…
