In 2018 I planted artichoke tubers that would take 2 yrs to produce fruit. I was so excited watching as my artichoke came to life growing a few feet each month throughout the summer of 2020. By August it was over 8ft tall with beautiful yellow flowers, I told everyone the buds would produce artichokes. September arrived, no artichokes so I went to research what had happened. I planted Jerusalem artichoke which is a species of a sunflower, not an artichoke 🤦‍♀️ Why are we so quick to assume? I have found this limits my ability to stay curious and have a growth mindset. In 2020, a colleague led a book review on having a fixed vs growth mindset.

Again, more evidence that our decision to be stuck or live starts in your mind (feed it well). I’ve shared with a variety of groups that if you are not growing you are dying... Stay curious and lean into failure, no assuming!
